This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities At ABB Robotics we are entering an exciting growth phase and are now looking to strengthen our R&D team with an Electrical Motor Developer focused on electric motors for industrial robots. In this role you will develop motor requirements and specifications for ABB’s industrial robots, and ensure the delivered motors meet our performance, quality and cost targets. While our suppliers own the detailed motor design, we lead the technical work through clear specifications, design reviews, prototypes, and verification & validation in close collaboration with our motor tester and the principal engineer (motor specialist). You will collaborate with R&D disciplines, our suppliers, supply chain management and production to ensure robust solutions, manufacturability and quality. You share our passion for industrial challenges, technical problem solving, and delivering results that create high customer value.
